How do I reserved Hawthorne House for a wedding and reception? Once you have selected your date one of our Special Event Planners will review our reservation and policy agreement with you.  Once both parties have signed the agreement you will need to pay the non-refundable facility fee portion of your event costs to reserve your date. .   (Back to Top)

What does the wedding facility fee include? The wedding facility fee includes the use of either the chapel or gazebo for wedding ceremony and also includes a one hour rehearsal.  If you plan to use the gazebo for your wedding ceremony, the wedding facility fee includes the setup and breakdown of our white, wooden outdoor chairs. The facility fee also includes our coordinator attending and coordinating your rehearsal and ceremony. (Back to Top)

What does the reception facility fee include? The reception facility fee includes the use of our dressing rooms and grounds for up to six hours prior to your reception.  In addition, it includes the use of the reception room for up to four and a half hours for your reception as well as tables, chairs, white or black table linens, white linen skirts for service tables, china, silverware, glassware, and cake service for up to 300 guests.  It also includes the services of our professional reception coordinator throughout your reception, our serving staff and office support staff. When can we arrive to decorate for our event?   For event preparation purposes bride, groom and anyone assisting bride and groom, including independent contractor(s), may start event preparations and decorations six hours prior to your scheduled event.   (Back to Top)

What is the role of the wedding and reception coordinator assigned to my event? Your coordinator will coordinate your wedding ceremony and reception, as well as supervise the staff during your reception at Hawthorne House.  She will be present at your wedding rehearsal, your wedding ceremony and your entire reception to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.   (Back to Top)

If our ceremony is taking place at Hawthorne House, when can we rehearse? Due to other events that may be scheduled at Hawthorne House on the same weekend as your event, your one hour rehearsal will take place on the Thursday evening prior to your event.  Your assigned ceremony coordinator will assist you with your rehearsal.   (Back to Top)

Do you have dressing facilities and if so, when are they available for our use? The Manor House has beautiful dressing rooms for both the bride and groom.  They are available for your use up to six hours prior to your ceremony.  In addition, there is a small changing room in the Chapel available for the bride and groom to do last minute touch ups. In the event of inclement weather is there a backup for outdoor wedding ceremonies?  Yes, the chapel may be used as a backup if your guest count is under 250.  If the guest count exceeds 250, the Emerson Room provides an excellent backup for outdoor wedding ceremonies.  Guests will be seated at the tables and the ceremony will take place on the staged area and the dance floor.  A decision to move a wedding ceremony indoors will be made on the day of the event and every effort will be made to have your wedding at the gazebo if possible.  (Back to Top)

Do you have minimum guest requirements? Yes, Hawthorne House requires a minimum number of guests be guaranteed for receptions in the reception room.  The required guest minimums is 100 Sundays thru Thursdays, 150 on Fridays, and 200 on Saturdays and Holidays.    Minimum guest requirements also apply to food and beverages. When do I pay for my food and beverages?  Your food and beverage costs will be calculated and divided into three equal payments that will be due 90 days, 60 days and 2 weeks prior to your event.

When is my final guest count due? Your final guest count is due 14 days prior to your scheduled event.  Hawthorne House will recalculate your estimated costs based on your final count as long as the minimum number of guest requirements are met.  (Back to Top)

Can I have a plated dinner?    Yes, we offer plated dinners, buffet dinners and dinner stations.  We also offer custom menu design as well as, vegetarian and gluten free options.   (Back to Top)

Can I purchase extra reception time if I would like to extend my event? Yes, we would be happy to let you purchase extra reception time in half-hour increments for up to two (2) hours additional hours. Host beverages may also be extended at half-hour increments.

Does Hawthorne House have on-site parking?  Yes, we have our own parking lots with plenty of parking for your guests.

Does Hawthorne House use staffing agencies to staff our event?  No, we do not use staffing agencies.  All of our staff are trained at Hawthorne House and many have been with us for many years.

Is Hawthorne House handicapped accessible? Hawthorne House prides itself on being accessible to all individuals. Each of our facilities is equipped with handicapped parking, handicapped access and handicapped restrooms. (Back to Top)
