Let’s Talk Florist!
Bright and Colorful. Whites and Greens. All the Baby’s Breath. No Baby’s Breath. Traditional & Timeless. Quirky and Unique…. No matter what your vision may be, we’ve got some recommendations when it comes to booking the perfect florist for the vision you have for your wedding day!
First and foremost - HIRE A PRO! This can make a world of a difference! Whether you have a $2,000 budget or a $10,000 budget, finding a florist who can order the flowers, put the pieces together, deliver them in full bloom, set them up and tear them down can relieve a lot of stress as you lead up to your wedding day!
Give them creative freedom! Florists are straight up artists in our opinions. If you have a specific style that you like, bring those inspiration photos with you when you meet with florists, but let them be a little creative and take your inspiration and turn it into your dream vision! Some of our favorite floral looks have come from couples who fully trust their florist with their budget and color palette and let them work their magic!
Ask about rentals! Some florists charge for the vessels or stands that need to be used and some include these in their overall cost. Do they have candle vases or votives that you can rent from them? One less thing for you to bring or rent from another vendor! (plus, that means they’ll set up these items for you - WIN!)
Repurpose your flowers! A bonus to having both your ceremony and reception on-site is that it is an easy transition from chapel or gazebo to Emerson Room! Any florals you use at your ceremony, have your coordinator (shameless plug to get a coordinator!!) shift those florals to your head table, to the bar, or to decorate the restrooms! Reuse them - your guests will never know!

Final and maybe most important tip : Include set up & teardown in your budget! At the end of the night, the last thing you (or your family) is going to want to have to worry about is what to do with the arrangements and rentals that your florist set up at the beginning of the day. Most florists have an additional cost for teardown, but let me tell you - it is worth every penny! Unless you plan to repurpose those flowers for a post wedding brunch (which is another fabulous idea!), those flowers often end up in our dumpster. Let your florist come back and take care of it for you!
There are so many amazing florists in Kansas City! A few of our favorite florists that always produce truly stunning arrangements are Good Earth Floral, Paige’s Petals, Bloom 47, Floriography, White Farmhouse Floral!
