FIVE MUST HAVES TO CREATE A RELAXING MORNING ON YOUR WEDDING DAY
You spend months and even sometimes years planning the wedding day. You picked out the gown nine months ago, are getting excited to see the floral arrangements you designed in real life and- WHOOPS- what about the morning of the wedding?!
The morning of the wedding IMO is the BEST part. You should wake up on your wedding day feeling relaxed and ready! You have planned your heart out and now there are no more decisions to make, no more questions to be answered and no more guest lists to stress over. You. Are. Officially. DONE! As long as you’ve planned in advance, that is ;)
Use these five quick + easy tips to prepare for the morning of your wedding so all you have to do is sip some bubbly and get beautified!
Attire: ABSOLUTELY!
Who doesn’t want to capture getting ready with their gal pals in matching PJs? Check out these super cute options our couples have chosen to kick start your inspiration! The number one thing to look out for? Be sure the outfits you choose have buttons because you don’t want to mess up hair and makeup after getting all dolled up!
Food: Can’t be without!
There are tons of great options close to Hawthorne House to preorder breakfast or lunch from and pick it up on your way or have it delivered! Jimmy Johns is a quick 0.9 miles away and has fabulous preorder options. A few days before the wedding, choose the time you’ll want it delivered or picked up and you can pay right then and there. That way, on the morning of your wedding, all you need to do is be sure someone is assigned to pick it up if that was the option you chose and, wa-lah, grub for all! Price Chopper is just a hair farther than across the street and their fruit trays with bagels are fabulous if you want a lighter breakfast option. Do you want an option that will decrease all the hassle? Ask us about our partnership with Brancato’s to provide Getting Ready Grub! You’ll order from and pay Hawthorne House in your final installment and it will be ready for you upon arrival.
Morning Beverages: Is it really a celebration without champagne?
Your wish is our command- we have a special Morning Mimosa Package for you and your bridesbabes! You’ll be greeted by chilled champagne with grapefruit and orange juice options as well as beautifully displayed champagne flutes. Want to bring your own glassware? No prob! We’ve seen fun personalize champagne flutes, sparkly disco ball cups and more brought in!
Not a bubbles gal? We’ve got you too! You can choose from wine or beer as well- whatever your palette, we have you covered. Morning beverages will be discussed in depth at the final walk through, held four weeks prior to the wedding, with all decisions made by the final installment.
Transportation: Trust me, you don’t wanna wait until the morning of to arrange this.
Hawthorne House has fab partnerships with a few hotels in close proximity (reference your vendor recommendation list for all you couples getting #HitchedAtHawthorne!) that offer free or discounted shuttle services. This is a great service to tap into if you’d like to have a worry-free morning for wedding party members. Prefer to drive yourselves? That’s great too! Simply divvy up into pre-arranged cars and make sure to talk through these details at the rehearsal dinner so everyone is on the same page.
Timeline: If you hire a coordinator you can likely skip this, hooray!
If you hire a wedding coordinator, they will likely handle vendor communication for you. Depending on the package you select, they may also create a timeline you can give to your wedding party (huge perk)! If you don’t hire a coordinator you’ll want to communicate certain timeline aspects to a few different groups. Hair and makeup artists will need to know what time venue access begins and how long they have to complete services. You’ll need to confirm what time your photographer is planning on starting photos, which will determine when services need to be completed for hair and makeup. More often than not, getting ready and photos can all happen at Hawthorne House! If you have a large wedding party and just one or two hair and makeup artists it may take longer than the allotted access time. If that is the case, you can purchase additional time through Hawthorne House or use your hotel for beautifying and use The Magnolia Room to get dressed! Lastly, you’ll want to communicate with your wedding party what time they need to be where (and that their hair should be dry upon arrival so services can start right away)!
And wah-lah! That’s it, my friend! We can’t wait to host your special start to forever and see what unique aspects you add to the day.
