THREE QUICK & EASY KID FRIENDLY WEDDING IDEAS
Alright- this is a judgement free zone. If you don’t want to have a kid-friendly wedding, it’s your day and your choice! If you DO want to have a kid-friendly affair, we know that it can be hard to know how to cater to the little ones if you don’t yet have little ones!
These fun ideas are sure to keep the kiddos entertained throughout your wedding!
1. Coloring pages. You can print free pages HERE or even order custom coloring pages about you and your partner! Give these out at the ceremony to families as they pick up programs, or have them sitting at the family place setting if you choose to have a seating chart. Don’t forget to provide a few crayons with each set!
2. Designated kids table with board games and mess-free activities: Have a table number or tie balloons to your centerpiece to designate one table as the activity table. Still provide seating next to parents for families to eat dinner together, but allow for the activity table to be used by any and all throughout the night! Include any mess free activities (paint and play dough may not go over well with your venue, but games like Guess Who, coloring pages and card games sure will).
3. Any outdoor space is always a hit. Most Hawthorne House couples utilize our 11 acres by setting giant jenga and cornhole out, but even if there aren’t lawn games the little ones love playing tag around the gazebo or racing down the hill!
Bonus tip: Use the Hawthorne House loft as a designated kid friendly space! Have board games and activity bags set out in the loft with a sign informing parents where kiddos can hang or entertaining toys can be found!
Happy Planning from Hawthorne House!
